Project 6: Balance

Strength and balance training: Enhancing recovery after a spinal cord injury

Balance is fundamental for standing and walking. It relies on the ability to integrate sensory information and activate postural muscles. After a spinal cord injury, these mechanisms can be disrupted, leading to balance and walking impairments.

This project examines the impact of a targeted training program combining muscle strengthening and balance exercises. The goal is to improve stability and functional recovery in individuals with an incomplete spinal cord injury.
