Part of the CIME team recently traveled to Quebec City to participate in the Canadian Neuromodulation Society (CNS) Conference, an event that brings together neurosurgeons, nurses, researchers and others from around the world.
This conference was an excellent opportunity to showcase the CIME program and its innovative work in neuromodulation applied to spinal cord injury rehabilitation.
Three posters were presented:
- The co-creation process of the upper limb project protocol, by Lucie Chesne, entitled Enhancing upper limb recovery with a combined activity-based therapy and transcutaneous spinal cord stimulation: co-development of a protocol to intensify and supplement in-patient care for individuals with subacute spinal cord injury.
- The initial results of the upper limb project, presented by Sujata Sinha in her poster Feasibility of combined activity-based therapy and transcutaneous spinal cord stimulation for upper limb rehabilitation in individuals with sub-acute spinal cord injury. Sujata won the award for best poster at the conference for this work.
- Preliminary results of the lower limb project, presented by Nicolas Hoang Quang with his study Gait training combined with transcutaneous spinal stimulation to enhance lower limb motor recovery in people with spinal cord injury: Pilot Study.
Participation in the CNS Conference helped raise CIME’s visibility and highlights the scientific and clinical excellence of the team in the neuromodulation field.
